Matt talks Andrew into going to a party (rave) in the middle of no where, at an abandoned warehouse, where they end up finding a whole in the ground, go into it, and discover some sort of glowing rock that ends up giving them mind powers also known as telekinesis. As the boys practice with their powers they start off with throwing a baseball at eachother to see if they can stop it from hitting them.
As the boys are able to conquer doing telekinesis with some small things, they decided to go a little bit further. Matt and Steven decided to help Andrew feel more important by making him popular among other school children. They talked him into doing a talent show act in front of every child in the school. At first no one wanted him up there then he started doing tricks that just amazed everyone so much that he instantly became popular.
After realizing that they can do nearly anything and everything is when the pranks started. Andrew, because of his hard life at home had so much anger inside of him that it was raging to get out which caused him to be much stronger than the other two and ended up him being out of control. Andrew ends up killing Steven. He also ended up harming many others after the death of his mother. In the end, Matt may have been the one that ended up killing Andrew, but really it was his anger that killed him.
Critics are surprisingly happy with this movie. They give it between two to four stars. They say that this movie shows the dangers that could come if someone where to really have any type of powers. It is reported that 86% of critics have given Chronicle nothing but good reviews. Mostly because it is a freshly new movie.
In my opinion, Chronicle was a good movie for children to see, maybe a good family movie. Although there were a lot of good or even some funny parts in the movie, it kind of reminded me of the movie "Hancock" with Will Smith. I believe that children would be the only ones that would really remember this movie with the lessons that it provides. Children seem to pay more attention to movies like this because the humans have super powers and what child does not want those? The audience that Chronicle is targeting are of course children, and maybe some adults who want to be Peter Pan and never grow up.
